Raaga Shankarabharanam stands out with a maximum number of compositions! By scale wise, the Shankarabharanam(also called as Dheerashankarabharanam) scale corresponds to Bilaawal in the Hindustani music system. The Western equivalent is the major scale, or the Ionian mode. Hence this raaga is one of the most popular scales across the world, known with different names in different musical styles (2)
